What do I need for a roadworthy in QLD? 

​

     All you need to do is book your inspection online with Rivercity Roadworthys. Your motorcycle, trike, or sidecar should be positioned on a flat, hard surface with enough space around it for a full visual inspection. Please ensure it is clean and accessible so components such as lights, tyres, brakes, and structural elements can be checked properly.

     Your bike does not need to be registered, as I carry a Trade Plate for any required road testing, including the mandatory brake test. If a flat or spacious area cannot be provided at your home, a nearby side street or similar safe location can be used.

     If you live in an apartment building, please use a visitor parking area or loading bay, as this speeds up the process and ensures a smooth experience.  Most basement car parks have limited internet access, which is required to issue your Motorcycle Roadworthy Safety Certificate.

     Please be aware that your motorcycle will be test ridden even in the rain so please make sure you have adequate fuel and a good working battery.

​How long does a mobile roadworthy take?

​

      It depends.  I aim for around 40 mins for most motorcycle types 

      Please note: You do not have to present for the Inspection. 

 

​What can fail a QLD roadworthy?

​

      Silly things that fail a QLD Roadworthy are: Tyres that have not got at least 1.5mm of tread in the primary area across the tyre tread width, Tyres with damaged side walls,  Light globes not working, oil leaks, no reflectors, cut frames, non-compliant mirrors, exhaust systems (especially LAMS) and indicators without E marks and incorrect flash rates. Motorcycles with tyre shine on the tyres will also fail a Safety Certificate.

     If your motorcycle fails its initial inspection, you have 14 days to rectify the works to be able to pass your inspection. In most cases, they are minor defects which I will accept photo, video or professional mechanical invoices. but if the defect is major, a re inspection will be required at a cost of $55 inc gst 

 

​Do you service all areas of Brisbane and Redlands?

​

      YES.

      All suburbs listed as Brisbane or Redlands Suburbs are serviced.  You should check that your suburb is listed at the bottom of the BOOK HERE page on this Website to make sure. Outside area bookings are cancelled and charged an administration fee with the balance of the

      booking refunded. 

 

​Can I get a same-day roadworthy?

​

      YES.   

     Providing I have not exceeded the daily limit of Inspections.  You should call 0409 870 059 and check my availability. I will book with you over the phone and accept a card payment on the day.  There will be an additional $20 fee on top of the regular booking fee.  If I cannot do your Roadworthy on the same day, I will direct you to Online Booking
