At Rivercity Roadworthy's and Mechanical, we provide mobile Queensland Safety Certificate inspections for pre-1970 vehicles of all makes and models, along with custom builds and hot rods. We come to your garage, workshop or storage facility — so you never need to risk driving an unregistered, unfinished or rarely-driven vehicle on public roads.

Queensland Safety Certificate — what we check:

Our inspections meet all Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) safety certificate requirements. For classic and hot rod vehicles, we pay particular attention to:

• Brakes — drum systems, master cylinder condition, line integrity, parking brake operation

• Steering and suspension — including original kingpin setups and modified front ends

• Tyres and wheels — including period-correct sizing and any non-standard wheel fitments

• Lights — original sealed beams through to LED conversions

• Body and chassis — corrosion, structural integrity, custom modifications

• Seatbelts — original lap belts, retrofitted three-point belts, certified harnesses

• Glass — original glass condition and any safety-glass replacements

• Wiring and electrical — original looms, points ignition systems, modern conversions

• Exhaust — original-style systems and aftermarket fitments​

How to book

Booking is straightforward. Use the online booking system or give us a call to discuss your vehicle. Pricing is fixed once the correct age and vehicle type is selected, with weekend and public holiday surcharges applying.

For unregistered classics that haven't been driven recently, we recommend you check basic items before our visit: brakes, tyres, fluids, and that the vehicle will start and idle reliably. We're happy to discuss what to look at over the phone before booking if you're unsure.
